<description>&lt;img src=&quot;http://static1.videosift.com/thumbs/c/la/classic_cartoon_star_blazers.jpg&quot; /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;(12 votes - 1 comment - 1752 views)&lt;br /&gt;REMASTERED:star blazers:the comet empire-a trailer.&lt;br /&gt; star blazers  was my first introduction to japanimation,and the japanese style of storytelling,calling it a protracted style is an under-statement.it was this serial style that i became a huge fan.&lt;br /&gt;  the animation was like nothing i had ever seen,disney was all i knew.&lt;br /&gt; this is the show where critics had to create a new word just to describe it....anime.&lt;br /&gt;  i used to run home from the bus stop just to see the next installment.&lt;br /&gt; you can have your &quot;voltron&quot;,your &quot;battle of the planets&quot;..&lt;br /&gt; &quot;star blazers&quot; was the first.and while the storyline contained some regrettable campy japanese aspects,the story was rich,had depth of character and for the first time in my young life...took its sci-fi seriously.&lt;br /&gt;  since it came out in the 70's,(yeah yeah..im dating myself)&lt;br /&gt; some of you may not remember this show.while i do not mean to diss thundercats,he-man,robo-tech etc etc.&lt;br /&gt; they would not ever have existed if not for star blazers.&lt;br /&gt;  &quot;the comet empire&quot; was the second in a trilogy of stories concerning the space-battleship yamato,the first being &quot;quest for iscandar&quot;.&lt;br /&gt; there was a third but i never saw it.&lt;br /&gt;</description>
