Insane Tesla Model S EXPLOSION!! 30kg of dynamite!

BSR says...

My father woke up, screaming "Stop!"
"Wait a minute! Stop it boy!
What do ya think you're doin'? That's no way to treat an expensive electric instrument"
And I said "God damn it Daddy"
"You know I love you, But you've got a hell of a lot to learn about electric cars."

KISS - Black Diamond - 1975 promo

BSR says...

I raised the guitar high above my head
And just as I was about to bring the guitar crashing down upon the centre of the bed
My father woke up, screaming "STOP"
"Wait a minute, stop it boy. What do you think your doing?"
"Thats no way to treat an expensive musical instrument"
And I said "God damn it Daddy"
"You know I love you, But you've got a hell of a lot to learn about Rock 'n' Roll"

Sorry, bro, you know I love you but I had to downvote this.

You mentioned in a previous comment in this thread that context is important and I think you're right--particularly the fact that the author of this video is hugely pro-GamerGate and the purpose of this video seems to be--yet again--to rationalize the personal attacks against high profile activists in the GamerGate saga.

This video is a classic example of how and why GamerGate as a movement completely self-destructed--it wanted to debate the people involved and avoid debating the actual ideas.

So what if the people making the claims are narcissistic? So what if they believe they are special snowflakes? None of that matters. What matters is their arguments and how strongly they can support them.

Some initial GamerGate arguments actually had merit, for example complaints about too close ties between media sites and game publishers and a lack of disclosure about those ties.

And you know what? People actually listened! For what it's worth, GamerGate did in fact cause most gaming media outlets to reconsider and revise their ethics guidelines. For example, journalists now feel the need to mention whether they bought their own copy of a review game or were gifted one by the company (honestly, I don't give a fuck either way but apparently some people thought it was a big deal).

I think the irony of this video is that everything that the author says about "SJWs" can in fact be applied to many GamerGaters themselves. Are they not seeking reform? Who could be against ethics in gaming journalism? It could be argued that just as the Occupy movement was destroyed from within by people more concerned with their priviledge than actual change the GamerGate movement was destroyed from within by "gamers" who felt their opinion alone was what should matter to publishers making games, and any form of dissent from that party line meant you were an SJW unworthy of being listened to.

On second thought, maybe I shouldn't have downvoted this video... the irony here is too delicious.

Jesus Christ Superstar - Dance Party 2BC

eric3579 says...

Christ you know I love you.
Did you see I waved?
I believe in you and God
So tell me that I'm saved.
Christ you know I love you.
Did you see I waved?
I believe in you and God
So tell me that I'm saved.
Jesus I am with you.
Touch me, touch me, Jesus.
Jesus I am on your side.
Kiss me, kiss me, Jesus.

SIMON ZEALOTES

Christ, what more do you need to convince you
That you've made it, and you're easily as strong
As the filth from Rome who rape our country,
And who've terrorized our people for so long.

CROWD

Jesus I am with you.
Touch me, touch me, Jesus.
Jesus I am on your side.
Kiss me, kiss me, Jesus.

Christ you know I love you.
Did you see I waved?
I believe in you and God,
So tell me that I'm saved.

Christ you know I love you.
Did you see I waved?
I believe in you and God,
So tell me that I'm saved.

Christ you know I love you.
Did you see I waved?
I believe in you and God,
So tell me that I'm saved.

Christ you know I love you.
Did you see I waved?
I believe in you and God,
So tell me that I'm saved.

Jesus I am with you.
Touch me, touch me, Jesus.
Jesus I am on your side.
Kiss me, kiss me, Jesus.

SIMON ZEALOTES

There must be over fifty thousand
Screaming love and more for you.
And everyone of fifty thousand
Would do whatever you asked them to.
Keep them yelling their devotion,
But add a touch of hate at Rome.
You will rise to a greater power.
We will win ourselves a home.
You'll get the power and the glory
For ever and ever and ever
You'll get the power and the glory
For ever and ever and ever
You'll get the power and the glory
For ever and ever and ever
You'll get the power and the glory
For ever and ever and ever
Forever Amen! Amen! Amen!

Ricky Gervais' Extremely Uncomfortable Golden Globes Monolog

Shepppard says...

I actually don't really agree with what Ricky did, personally.

Let me explain, before you all bust out the torches and pitchforks.

Basically, the globes is a celebration of what the Actors themselves did, Granted, it's not generally a high-esteemed field, but a lot of actors are still very good at what they do, and the globes are celebrating that.

While I don't think Ricky's jokes were terribly offensive, he still treated the entire gig as a sort of Roast, except the people he mocked didn't volunteer themselves, they just showed up. And one thing I don't see from all the videos popping up, is Gervais saying "Nah, I'm just kidding, you know I love you" as many Roasts do.

I just don't think that this was the time or place for the jokes he told.

oh, enoch. you have got to be the most wonderful person to disagree with. it's not so much that i'm worried about hurting feelings, although that is of course a concern. it's more that i know how robust attitudes can be. so, the likelihood of changing anyone's mind, especially over a text medium, is unlikely. because of that, i often say nothing (other than the occasional knee-jerk "whaaat?!"), because prior experience has shown me that discussion results in nothing more than an endless back and forth dance of opinion.

there's nothing intrinsically wrong with that, but i just feel like i could invest my time better.

in any case, i'll respond on that thread, because i owe it to you and because you are so unbelievably kind-hearted i'd feel awful if i didn't. thankyou for being so caring.

i just don't get the bagging on psychology. science is HARD - science of human behaviour is INCREDIBLY HARD.

you know i love you right?
i responded..i do hope my run-on-sentence style does not detract from the point i was attempting to make.
comments can be so..limiting.
i stated in my comment but let me also state it here.
you have always been a thoughtful and respectful person with me and even though we may disagree you need to understand i respect very much the input you may wish to share.

i prefer to engage with someone i disagree with.it hones my skillz but more importantly it makes me look at my premise and understanding and disagreements force me to scrutinize and maybe re-evaluate my position.
i am quite aware that i do not know everything and discourse helps me form a clearer picture.the only way i can achieve that goal is by engaging someone who disagrees with me (and who is not mentally stunted).
why do you think i frequent a site populated by atheists?
bingo!..same reason.

i have offered you the opportunity to refute my opinions over the past 2 yrs and you have always politely refused.i can only surmise this is due to your assumption that i may get my feelings hurt.
noble but unnecessary.
i also presume that psychology is your field of study, which makes the prospect of discussing with you certain elements of your views and opinions that much more appealing.

you dont have to do anything of course and that is fine but please dont bow out from a discussion with me due to the fear i may have my feelings hurt.
if my fly was open would you allow me to wander with my wanked hanging out?
while i may be a tad embarrassed i will also be grateful.
think about it.
ah my friend..you are okie dokie in my book.
namaste.

Haha, Cain was pretty badass, but R2 just lacks that Verhoven touch.

I always felt that ED209 was a little too vulnerable. Also, the second film is much better.

Demon, you know I love you, but you shame me with this comment... Robocop 1 > all other robocops.
